Nepal Earthquake
Watch the Nepal Video.
TNM responded immediatly to the devastating earthquake in Nepal on April 25. We initially distributed PAKs with a focus on food content. Later we assisted thousands of people with tarps for shelter and hygiene PAKs.
Our primary operation was in Chaku, 5 hours Northeast of Kathmandu and only 10 km from the Tibet border. From there we worked about 4000 feet up the mountain in less accessible villages.
On May 12, a new 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck near this area collapsing more houses and businesses and setting back a fragile recovery. TNM worked through village churches, giving us a vast network of local vounteers and real time information as needs and accessibility changed.
